The Secret Lives of Spafaxians: Theo Clark, London

By Spafax / August 24 2017

What’s your role at Spafax and which office do you call home?

I am an Assistant Producer in the London office within the Production department. I work on several projects but most of my time is spent on the Virgin Atlantic account.

What’s the best thing about your job?

The best part of my job is helping create the ‘What’s On Vera’, an entertainment highlights series, for Virgin Atlantic. We get to try new ideas and setups, which makes every shoot different and exciting!

What have you been working on lately?

Currently I’m setting up the shoot for the October cycle, which we will be filming on end of August. Leading up to the shoot, I’m gathering content and making sure everything is in place for a smooth production.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I try and have an active lifestyle outside of work to balance my time. This ranges from Muay Thai training after work to playing guitar and writing songs – anything with a creative outlet, really. But living in Brighton means most of my weekends I find myself at gigs or spoken word events to drag queen races to pop-up food festivals. Brighton is a busy but fun place if you dare to go with the flow!

Top 3 TV Shows.

Easily my favorite TV Show is Sons Of Anarchy. The soundtrack alone is amazing but the script writing and storytelling is crafted so well.

South Park is another love of mine. The politically charged episodes, I believe, have helped people of all ages and fans of the show see that you should always question government as well as social norms.

Lastly I would have to say It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.  It’s such as great show and the cast is just amazing. Whenever I can’t think of anything to watch or just wanting to fill the void this is the boxset I reach for.

Something that inspires you.

I find myself inspired the most when I see an amazing gig or a superb documentary. When you connect with a performer or a subject matter I just want to stop everything I’m doing and start writing. I look at these people and creatives and think I also want to make something that people can connect with or change the world in some way.

If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?

I have always dreamed of being able to fly and travel anywhere, anytime or just float around in the sky. Of course this super power would mostly be used every time Southern Rail decide to go on strike or if I can’t get tickets to a festival. But I would mostly use the power for good…mostly.

Something (anything!) that most of your colleagues don’t know about you.

I spend a lot of time in the summer going to music festivals. One fateful year – after jumping over the barrier and slipping past security – I got on stage with Iggy Pop! That was until I was grabbed by the ankle and dragged through mud by security. Some would say I was his “Passenger.”
