Eurowings and Spafax Extend Inflight Entertainment Partnership with Spafax Profile

By Spafax / January 29 2020

Eurowings is the fourth passenger airline of the Lufthansa Group to launch a new interactive entertainment platform, Spafax Profile.

LONDON – January 29, 2020 – Eurowings and global content agency Spafax announced today the launch of Spafax Profile, Spafax’s entertainment personalization platform. Passengers flying with Eurowings can now access inflightentertainment.eurowings.com to find out which movie, TV, audio or games content is available on their next short-haul or long-haul flight. Profile enables everyone to watch trailers, recommend content via email or social media, get informed about the internet service on board or find the answers to FAQs.

Spafax Profile, proprietary software developed by the entertainment company, allows passengers to see the Eurowings in-flight entertainment offer available prior to their trip, as well as more in-depth information about each program all via an interactive website experience. The Spafax Profile ‘Connected Experience’ brings entertainment to every step of the passenger journey, from discovering entertainment at home, to future streaming in the lounge and continuing in flight.

"Switching from a printed to a fully digitized version of our Entertainment Media Guide [will] help us save printing, distribution and waste costs in the future."
- Daniel Goering, Head of Product & Ancillary Revenues, Eurowings

“Switching from a printed to a fully digitized version of our Entertainment Media Guide not only enables us to improve the customer experience but also helps us save printing, distribution and waste costs in the future and, in terms of less weight, we also reduce kerosene costs which brings us one step closer to more sustainability on board,” said Daniel Goering, Head of Product & Ancillary Revenues, Eurowings.

As an open, system-agnostic platform, Spafax Profile, is designed to enrich and improve all connected IFE hardware solutions. The open APIs connect with airline integration points and third-party apps, enabling next-gen entertainment experiences for our clients’ passengers.

"We’re always looking to help airlines make the best of their in-flight entertainment and are thrilled to be partnering with Eurowings for this purpose."
- Niall McBain, CEO, Spafax

Spafax CEO, Niall McBain added, “We’re always looking to help airlines make the best of their in-flight entertainment and are thrilled to be partnering with Eurowings for this purpose. We’re confident that Spafax Profile will deliver a more personalized experience for Eurowings’ passengers.”
