Spafax California Welcomes New Director of Operations

I am happy to announce the arrival of Karen Mahmalji, as our new Director of Operations here in Orange, California. Karen will oversee our growing operational and technical teams in Orange, ensuring accurate and timely delivery for over two dozen IFE clients. This includes trafficking, metadata/publicity management, tape fulfillment and lab services (editing, encoding, and duplication for both video and audio).

Karen has held a number of leadership positions in entertainment production, most notably as Director of Operations at Walt Disney, along with stints at Warner Bros. and DirecTV.  She is a Chicago native who enjoys traveling and sailing. I am thrilled to have her join us. She will help us continue to be industry innovators, and  her experience and enthusiasm will be welcomed by our clients and partners.

Promotions and changes at the Spafax Orange (California) Operation

I’d like to introduce some exciting changes to the Spafax leadership in our Orange, CA office.

Dominic Green has been promoted to Senior Client Director.  In his new position, Dom will be responsible for leading all of our office’s entertainment and content capabilities, including both audio and video.  Dom is an industry veteran who has been with Spafax for just over eleven years and during that time has led efforts for Thai Airways, Finnair and many others.  He is also a member of the Airline Passenger Experience Association Board.

Christine Anaya has been promoted to Manager of Audio Programming. Christine will oversee both the creativity and execution of our audio offer.  Christine has been with Spafax for over four years and has managed programming for a number of worldwide clients. She also manages relationships with a broad group of international music labels.

Last but not least, Armando Arechiga has been promoted to Manager, Video Services. Armando is four-year Spafax veteran who has expertly managed our video master trafficking and inventory.  In his new role, Armando will also take charge of our video encoding and editing team, which is currently handling record volumes of material on behalf of our worldwide clients.

I’m excited to have Christine, Dom and Armando all take on even greater responsibility here in our

Southern California operation. It’s shaping up to be an exciting 2011 for Spafax.
